Letter
from Peru
This is an interesting letter written to my Great-Grandfather around
the
turn of the 20th Century, by his sister, while she
was traveling in Peru with her family.
As she says in the beginning of
the letter, "it reads like a dime store novel".
If you're
into this kind of historical stuff.....check it out.
J.B. Shoenfelt
This is a newspaper article about Anna Isenberg's husband...
My
Great-Grandmother thought he was a crook and a rogue and wouldn't let Great-Grandfather
do any business with him. The story goes that he asked Great-Grandfather
to buy some cemetery plots for him, but Great-Grandmother insisted that
the deeds
be left in her name until J.B. paid for them. I guess she was
right, because
it was a decade or two before he finally showed up with
the money.
Press coverage sure isn't what it used to be...........
